The International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka remained busy on Friday as the eighth Bangladesh International Maritime and Offshore Expo (BIMOX 2026) and the weekly Super Sale Car Bazar attracted visitors with maritime technologies and a range of vehicles for sale.
The international exhibition on Bangladesh’s maritime and offshore industries features technologies, equipment and innovations related to shipbuilding, ship recycling, port management, marine engineering and offshore technology.
Organised by Savour International Limited, the exhibition was inaugurated by Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam at the Navaratri Hall of ICCB on Thursday.
Organisers said modern technology, investment and international cooperation were essential to harness the potential of marine resources. More than 200 companies from seven countries, including Bangladesh and the Netherlands, are participating in the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors from 10:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Super Sale Car Bazar also drew buyers and sellers to ICCB on Friday. The event, which began at 10:00am, is scheduled to continue until 8:00pm.
Launched on 4 September this year, the car market has been held every Friday for five consecutive weeks, with attendance by buyers and sellers increasing over time. The event will continue to take place every Friday.
The market offers opportunities to buy and sell new, used and reconditioned cars, motorcycles and utility vehicles.
Organisers said the event saves buyers time and effort by allowing them to view and compare vehicles of different brands and models in one place. It also enables sellers to reach potential buyers directly.
Wizard Showbiz is organising the Super Sale Car Bazar, with ICCB serving as the venue partner.
