732 more suspected measles cases, two deaths recorded in 24hrs

Bangladesh recorded 732 new suspected measles cases and two more deaths in the past 24 hours, the country’s health authorities said on Saturday.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin, 101 cases of measles were confirmed between 8am Friday and 8am Saturday, with no confirmed deaths during the same period.

The DGHS said that since 15 March, the total number of confirmed measles cases has stood at 12,526, while suspected cases have reached 104,693.

During the same period, 93 people died from confirmed measles, while 638 deaths were reported among suspected cases.

Besides, a total of 84,218 patients have recovered so far, the DGHS said.
