DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh and Australia have launched phase one of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE) 2025, with 13-day long joint activities between the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Bangladesh Armed Forces
scheduled from September 21 to October 03.
As part of the initiative, a seminar on climate security and energy resilience began on Monday at the Bangladesh Air Force Base Bir Uttam AK Khandaker in Kurmitola, here, under the supervision of the Bangladesh Air Force, according a press release from the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR).
Air Vice Marshal Md Tariqul Islam, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance) of the BAF, inaugurated the seminar as chief guest .A 10-member Australian delegation led by Group Captain Steven Henry, chief of staff of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour, joined the programme. Senior officers of the Armed Forces Division (AFD, academics, and invited guests were also present at the event, it said.
The main objective of the seminar is to discuss the current challenges of climate security, explore innovative solutions for energy resilience and highlight the potential of sustainable aviation fuels, which will further strengthen regional cooperation and environmental sustainability.
According to ISPR, multiple thematic sessions will be held on the challenges of climate security, the importance of energy resilience in the defence sector and the global application of sustainable aviation fuels as part of the joint event.
Eminent speakers from Bangladesh Air Force, Australian Defence Force and Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies will present keynote papers.
