MiCare Health and Research Center, located in Shyamoli, Dhaka, has taken special initiatives to ensure improved medical services for the country’s players and athletes on the occasion of the FIFA World Cup.
The organisation has formed an “Integrated Sports Medicine Board” to provide specialised services in the management of various sports-related physical problems and injuries.
Dr Sheikh Md Abdullah Al Rafi, Chief Consultant of Orthopaedics and Sports Surgery at MiCare Health and Research Center, gave this information in a press release on Sunday.
He said that all players and athletes in the country will be able to avail this special service for sports-related injuries, knee pain, ligament problems, muscle injuries, rehabilitation and performance improvement.
The board, comprising sports medicine specialists, orthopedic sports surgeons and sports physiotherapists, will provide comprehensive evaluation and medical advice for the players.
The initiative will provide free consultations to all registered sportsmen and athletes, up to 50% discount on sports injury-related treatments and surgeries, the opportunity to receive opinions from three experts at once, and special performance evaluations for professional players.
Dr Rafi added, “Our goal is to make modern and integrated sports medicine services easily available to athletes in Bangladesh. We are committed to improving the long-term performance of players and getting them back on the field quickly by providing international standard medical and rehabilitation services.”
He added that advance registration is mandatory to participate in this special free camp.
Players will have to bring their club ID card or the ID card of the concerned federation while availing the services.
MiCare Health and Research Center hopes that this initiative will further strengthen the healthcare system for athletes in the country and play a positive role in the prevention and management of sports-related injuries.
