The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will hold its third board meeting of the current Tamim Iqbal-led regime on Wednesday, with the development of a new stadium complex at Purbachal set to dominate discussions.

BCB president Tamim is expected to present a design plan to convert one of two grounds under construction at Purbachal into a full-fledged stadium, while keeping the second as a dedicated practice facility, as part of a broader push to shift board operations away from Mirpur.

Though not formally on the agenda, board sources say that the meeting is likely to touch on a potential change in One Day International captaincy, with all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz facing internal criticism after Bangladesh’s series defeat in Zimbabwe.

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das is understood to be the board’s preferred choice of replacement, with Towhid Hridoy currently serving as vice-captain.

The BCB will also discuss next year’s Bangladesh Premier League, with media reports indicating a possibility of replacing the flagship tournament with a smaller domestic T20 league.

Formal agenda items include the appointment process for a new pace bowling coach and batting coach, central contracts for women cricketers, and the appointment of eight mentors to scout female talent nationwide ahead of the Women’s Under-19 World Cup, which Bangladesh will host early next year.
