Bangladesh on Thursday staged a walkout during the Israeli president’s address at the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Bangladesh delegation, led by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir, walked out of the conference hall as the Israeli president began delivering his speech at the summit, said a foreign ministry’s press release.
Representatives of several other countries also joined the walkout, boycotting the Israeli president’s address, according to information received from Baku.
The delegations left the conference hall in protest during the Israeli president’s speech.
The seventh CICA summit is being held in the Azerbaijani capital, bringing together leaders and senior representatives of participating countries to discuss regional cooperation, security and confidence-building measures across Asia.
