Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today underscored the prospects of enhanced cooperation with Bhutan, particularly in hydropower trade, for the mutual benefit of both nations.

He made the remarks when newly appointed Bhutanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Dasho Karma Hamu Dorjee paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.

Welcoming the envoy, the Adviser congratulated her on assuming office and expressed confidence that the existing friendly ties between Dhaka and Thimphu would be further deepened during her tenure.

The two countries have witnessed growing collaboration in various sectors over the years, said the Adviser.

The two sides also discussed trade-related matters and stressed the importance of convening the next round of Commerce Secretary Level Meeting to explore avenues for expanding bilateral trade.
