Gold prices have been raised again in the domestic market, with the price of 22-carat gold increasing by Tk5,482 per bhori.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced that the price of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at Tk246,110 per bhori. The new price came into effect at 10am on Saturday.

In a notice, BAJUS said it had revised the prices considering the overall market situation following a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.

Under the new rates, one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will cost Tk246,110, including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk235,030 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk201,846 per bhori. Gold sold under the traditional system will cost Tk164,812 per bhori.

BAJUS said the revised prices will remain effective at all jewellery shops across the country until further notice.

The association last adjusted gold prices on 20 August, raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,849 per bhori to Tk240,628, including VAT.
