The Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh on Friday extended its heartfelt congratulations to newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and wished him every success as he embarked upon his new responsibilities.
Mirza Fakhrul was sworn in as the 23rd president of Bangladesh on Friday.
Acting speaker Kayser Kamal administered the oath of office to the newly elected president at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban at 7:30pm.
In a Facebook post on Friday night, the embassy said Russian Ambassador Alexander Khozin participated in the oath-taking ceremony.
