The government has increased surveillance to ensure securities of diplomatic missions in the capital’s Baridhara and Gulshan areas following threatening emails by unidentified individuals.
As part of the process, additional members of law enforcement agencies, including those with uniforms and in civil dresses, have been deployed.
The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh informed the Police Headquarters through the foreign ministry about the threat last week.
The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit is currently investigating the incident through the Police HQ.
