Allegations have emerged against a former leader of the banned organization Bangladesh Chhatra League for secretly distributing iftar among locals in Nawabganj, Dhaka. The accused, Mithun Shil, was previously involved in Chhatra League politics.

According to local sources, the iftar distribution was organized on the occasion of the 106th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. However, instead of holding the event publicly, it was reportedly carried out discreetly at different locations across Nawabganj.
Residents of the area also claim that Mithun Shil has, at various times, been involved in activities linked to the banned organization and has attempted to remain engaged in organizational activities of the Bangladesh Awami League.
No statement could be obtained from Mithun Shil regarding the allegations. Local administration officials have also not issued any formal comment on the matter so far.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions among locals. While some view the initiative as a humanitarian effort, others have expressed concern over alleged links to a banned organization.
