Six more people have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths linked to confirmed measles and suspected cases to 816.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) regular measles situation report released on Saturday, no deaths from laboratory-confirmed measles were recorded during the period. However, six people died after developing symptoms consistent with the disease.

The report said 691 new patients with confirmed measles or measles-like symptoms were reported in the last 24 hours.

During the period, 78 new cases of confirmed measles were detected, raising the total number of confirmed infections to 15,272.

In addition, 613 people developed measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours. Since 15 March, a total of 122,763 people have reported such symptoms.

According to DGHS data, 105,298 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals since 15 March. Of them, 101,535 have recovered and been discharged.
