All passenger buses and other road-based public transports must install GPS tracking system by 1 August for ensuring safe road travel, said the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Monday.
In a public notification, BRTA referred to an 11 June notification issued by the Road Transport and Highway Division in this regard.
The GPS systems must be kept operational to ensure road safety through technological support, the BRTA notification read.
The GPS systems will be required for procuring new registration, and renewed fitness certificates for the public transports, it added.
