Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh on Saturday said the government is implementing both its election manifesto and the July Charter simultaneously as part of its governance agenda.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing to mark the government’s five months in office, the press secretary criticised the previous administration, claiming that despite repeated claims of development, the country had experienced a decline in several areas, particularly in religious, social, and family values.
He said meaningful national development would not be possible without strengthening moral and family values.
Saleh said the prime minister is working to bring qualitative changes to the country through practical actions rather than rhetoric. He added that the prime minister has called on people of all political parties and ideologies to work together to build a prosperous Bangladesh, saying political differences should be resolved through the ballot while national development requires unity.
He also said the prime minister has come out of corrupt culture and does not speak ill of anyone at anywhere, which was a usual practice in the past. He remains closely connected with the public and regularly visits districts outside Dhaka to strengthen public engagement.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Saleh described the newly approved national budget as “people-friendly,” noting that its passage had not triggered price hikes or instability in the cost of living.
