Two tourists were swept away by tidal waves while bathing in a section of the Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Thursday.
Both the victims – Yasin Khan and Ibrahim Khan – hail from Dhaka’s Kuril area.
Local rescue personnel recovered the body of Yasin Khan and took the body to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, said Mahbub Alam, supervisor of government appointed beach workers.
Search operations are ongoing for recovering the body of Ibrahim, he added.
The two tourists were part of an annual tour programme organised by the private company they worked for, sources said.
