Bangladesh has expressed deep shock and sadness over the deaths and destruction caused by sudden flash floods and a mudslide in Nepal.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said hundreds of people were missing following the disasters, with many feared dead, including tourists.
“The people and government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman express solidarity with the government and the friendly people of Nepal in this difficult time,” the statement said.
Bangladesh conveyed its deep condolences to the families of those who died and expressed hope for the early recovery and treatment of those missing.
The government also said Bangladesh stands ready to assist Nepal in any possible way in its relief and rescue efforts.
