Lithuanian non-resident Ambassador to Bangladesh Diana Mickeviciene paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir on Monday morning.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in the capital’s Tejgaon.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Lithuania, expanding trade and investment, cooperation in education and information technology, the exchange of skilled human resources, and the establishment of a Lithuanian visa centre in Dhaka, among other issues of mutual interest.
The foreign affairs adviser appreciated the continued communication and cooperation between Bangladesh and Lithuania.
Highlighting the potential of Bangladesh’s skilled and trained workforce, Kobir urged Lithuania to recruit more skilled workers from Bangladesh.
He also requested the establishment of a Lithuanian visa centre in Dhaka to facilitate the visa process for Bangladeshi citizens.
The Lithuanian ambassador expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in the education sector.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Lithuania.
