Judicial Magistrate Md Sujan Mia has been transferred after allegedly throwing a paperweight at a trainee lawyer during court proceedings in Gopalganj.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, signed by AFM Golzar Rahman, deputy secretary (Administration-1).
According to the notification, the Bangladesh Judicial Service member has been transferred from his current workplace, in consultation with the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and attached to the Law and Justice Division of the ministry as an attached officer (Civil Judge) until further orders.
He has been instructed to hand over charge of his current post to an officer nominated by the head of his office on the afternoon of 23 July and join his transferred workplace immediately.
The magistrate came under discussion on Wednesday after allegedly injuring a female trainee lawyer by throwing a glass paperweight at her during court proceedings.
