The government has given the greenlight to traders to purchase green chilies from abroad, and the import-related activities will begin Monday.
Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid confirmed the government’s decision in this regard during a market visit on Sunday.
The government is working to reduce tariffs on green chili imports, he added, while speaking to reporters during a visit to the kitchen market in the capital’s Shantinagar area.
