The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and global accounting and business advisory firm de tempête have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand career opportunities for Bangladeshi accounting professionals in the Gulf region.

The partnership will focus on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets, offering career counselling, market-focused training, professional development and recruitment coordination.

The agreement was signed in the capital by ICMAB President Md Kausar Alam FCMA and de tempête Founder and CEO Mohsena Khanom FCCA.

Under the agreement, the organisations plan to arrange workshops, webinars and country-specific training courses on taxation, value-added tax (VAT), anti-money laundering (AML), compliance, accounting and financial reporting.

Participants may also receive support with CV preparation, interview skills and professional networking, along with guidance on workplace expectations in target markets.

The two organisations may share job vacancies, connect candidates with employers and arrange interviews, subject to applicable requirements. Programme schedules and implementation plans will be agreed jointly.

“Preparing our members, affiliates and students for international careers requires strong technical foundations and an understanding of target markets,” said Kausar Alam.

He said the collaboration would provide practical learning, professional exposure and career guidance to help accounting professionals pursue opportunities in the Gulf.

Mohsena Khanom said the initiative would help Bangladeshi accounting professionals prepare for international careers through practical training, local market knowledge and professional connections.

The signing ceremony was attended by ICMAB vice presidents Abdul Matin Patwary and SM Zahir Uddin Haider, Executive Director Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Assistant Director Md Sakil Ahmed and Secretary Manjur Md Shaiful Azam.

De tempête was represented by Director and Chief Strategy Officer Hanium Maria Chowdhury and Operations Manager Arifur Rahman.

Founded in 2017, de tempête operates in the UAE, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Estonia, the United States and Bangladesh. It serves clients across more than 24 industries, providing accounting outsourcing, tax and VAT advisory, AML compliance, human resources and payroll services, virtual chief financial officer support, business setup and investment readiness services.
