Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuiyan has taken the oath of office as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC).

Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury administered the oath at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge in the afternoon on Sunday (6 September).

Registrar General of the Supreme Court Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiqui conducted the oath-taking ceremony. Judges of the Appellate Division, the secretary of the Law and Justice Division, members of the Public Service Commission, invited guests and officials of the Supreme Court Registry were present at the ceremony.

A law professor at Dhaka University, Nazmuzzaman Bhuiyan has been appointed as the new chairman of the PSC by the President under Article 138(1) of the Constitution. He succeeds former chairman Professor Mobasser Monem, who resigned on 18 August 2026.
