The government has decided not to hold admission tests for Class I from the 2027 academic session, with students continuing to be admitted through a lottery system.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Thursday, admissions to Class I in both government and non-government schools will be conducted through a lottery.
Admission to all other classes at primary and secondary schools, however, will continue to be based on admission tests, the ministry said.
In a separate announcement, the ministry said the results of the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on 10 August.
The announcements were made in a press release signed by Senior Information Officer Abdullah Shibli Sadik.
