President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RH) in Sylhet on Tuesday.
He reached the shrine premises at around 12:30pm and paid respects at the mausoleum of Hazrat Shahjalal, reciting the Fatiha.
The president later left for the shrine of Hazrat Shah Paran (RH).
Earlier, around noon, his motorcade reached the Circuit House at Surmapar from Sylhet Osmani International Airport, where he was given a guard of honour.
He then left for the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal.
Security was tightened around the shrine ahead of the president’s visit.
