St Gregory-Rose were crowned champions of the KGN Medicare Under-10 Mini Rugby Festival (Boys) 2026 after defeating Methodist-Hasnahena 5-0 through a golden try in the final at the National Handball Stadium on Friday.
The day-long festival, organised by the Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union and sponsored by KGN Medicare Limited, featured 12 teams from six schools.
The festival was inaugurated at 10:20am by Syeda Taslima Akter, Administrator of the Ria Gop Women’s Sports Complex. Federation Vice-President Mousum Ali presided over the opening ceremony.
Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Md Sarwar Hossain attended the closing and prize-giving ceremony as the chief guest and handed over the trophies and prizes to the champions and runners-up.
Dr Syeda Tasnim Jahan, Managing Director of KGN Medicare Limited, was present as the special guest.
Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union General Secretary Akhtar Uz Zaman, Tournament Committee Chairman and federation Vice-President Tarek Chowdhury, Tournament Secretary Mashiur Rahman Sumon, Vice-President Mousum Ali, Joint Secretary Md Shariful Islam Bhorsa, Saeed Ahmed and federation member Md Sirajul Islam were also present.
The closing ceremony was presided over by federation President Mohammad Riazul Ali.
St Gregory-Rose held their nerve in the final, producing the decisive golden try to beat Methodist-Hasnahena 5-0 and lift the championship trophy.
