Bangladesh middle-order batter Yasir Ali Chowdhury is banking on collective intent and team unity showed in the second T20 as the Tigers look to seal the series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday.
Speaking in a Bangladesh Cricket Board video on Saturday, Yasir addressed the team spirit on Friday, “It wasn’t desperation. The thing was that all of us were trying, from our respective positions, to give our best.”
“The biggest thing was that yesterday we all took the field with the team’s bonding spirit in mind — that we would play for Bangladesh and make the team win,” he explained the reason behind the victory.
“I think that was what most of the boys had in mind, that we would make Bangladesh win,” Yasir added.
Yasir, who returned to international cricket for the first time in over two years during this tour, hit a fifty in the opening T20I before Bangladesh fell to a 32-run defeat.
The right-hander expressed that the mindset of the Tigers in the series-decider would not be much different from the last match.
“We will try to approach the game the same way we did in the last match, Inshallah. The approach will always be positive, we will try to win the series for our country from here,” he concluded.
With Zimbabwe having won the one-off Test and the One Day International series 2-1 earlier on the tour, Bangladesh are chasing their only series win of the trip.
