Zimbabwe put up 143 for seven in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first in the third and deciding T20I against Bangladesh in Bulawayo on Sunday.
Dion Myers top-scored with 73 off 53 balls, anchoring the innings after opener Brian Bennet fell for 47 in the 12th over. The two put up 71 for the second wicket, which was the highest partnership of the innings, before Mohammad Saifuddin’s delivery found Bennet’s stumps to break the stand.
Myers continued to accelerate in the middle and death overs, making crucial partnerships with Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl before being run out in the penultimate over for 73. His dismissal triggered a collapse with three wickets in the final two overs that restricted Zimbabwe to a moderate total.
Saifuddin was Bangladesh’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 35 runs from four overs. Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain each took one wicket. Taskin Ahmed was wicketless despite conceding only 16 runs from four overs.
Bangladesh require 144 to win the series decider and seal the series 2-1.
