As the United States accelerates its push for stronger domestic manufacturing and more resilient supply chains, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a key driver of industrial transformation.

Among those contributing to this evolving landscape is Bangladeshi researcher Kamana Parvej Mishu, whose work combines aviation safety expertise with cutting-edge AI technologies to tackle complex manufacturing and logistics challenges.

Mishu’s research focuses on developing AI-driven solutions that enable manufacturers and supply chain operators to predict disruptions, optimise resources and make faster, data-driven decisions.

Using artificial intelligence, machine learning and predictive analytics, her work aims to improve manufacturing reliability, logistics efficiency and inventory management while reducing operational risks.

Her journey into advanced manufacturing research is rooted in more than a decade of experience in aviation safety.

During her service at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh from 2012 to 2023, she worked on aircraft certification, maintenance oversight, safety inspections and regulatory compliance under international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

She also gained practical experience in avionics maintenance and participated in aircraft induction and certification activities at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada in 2020.

Building on that foundation, Mishu earned a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Trine University in Indiana in December 2025, graduating with distinction and a 3.95 CGPA.

She has since focused her research on AI-enabled supply chain optimisation, predictive maintenance, intelligent logistics, blockchain-supported transparency and cybersecurity analytics.

Her research has been presented at IEEE-associated international conferences and published in peer-reviewed forums, contributing to the growing body of knowledge on intelligent industrial systems.

As industries worldwide seek smarter ways to navigate supply chain disruptions and rising operational uncertainties, Mishu believes lessons from aviation – where safety, reliability and risk management are paramount – can help transform manufacturing.

By applying those principles through AI, she hopes to strengthen production systems, improve transportation efficiency and build more resilient supply chains, contributing to America’s long-term industrial competitiveness.
