The gazette notification for the new national pay scale for government employees may be issued on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The Cabinet approved the new national pay scale, or the ninth pay scale, for government employees on 31 August.
The gazette was expected to be issued within a week, but nearly three weeks have passed without its publication.
However, preparations for issuing the notification are now at the final stage, according to officials concerned.
Several officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said preparations for publishing the gazette notification of the ninth pay scale are almost complete and it may be issued today (19 September).
The Bangladesh Government Press (BG Press) is already printing the notification, they said. The necessary procedures, including vetting by the Law Ministry, have been completed, and preparations are underway for its formal publication.
The notification may be officially issued after noon today, the officials added.
