BNP acting secretary general and Prime Minister’s Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged the opposition party to give advices on solving the ongoing gas and power crises instead of issuing threats of street movement.

“The gas and power crises have been created due to international wars and wrong decisions taken by the previous governments,” Rizvi said.

Rizvi made the remarks while attending the inaugural ceremony of the new executive committee of Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Sangstha at the Jatiya Natyashala Auditorium of Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Friday.

Rizvi said, “It’s okay if you (The Opposition) carry out activities and long marches for gas and power. But first you need to give an alternative on how we will get gas and power from where and in which way.”

“Opposition leaders have the opportunity to speak in the parliament. Although criticism of the government and street agitation are democratic practices, advices are also needed to tackle crises,” Rizvi added.

State Minister for Road Transport and Railways Habibur Rashid Habib, among others, was present at the event as special guest.
