Government employees will enjoy a five-day holiday from 20 October to 24 October on the occasion of Durga Puja following Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s executive order declaring 22 October a public holiday.
According to the government holiday calendar, 20 October (Tuesday) is an executive-order holiday on the occasion of Nabami, while 21 October (Wednesday) is a public holiday for Bijoya Dashami.
22 October (Thursday) was originally scheduled to be a working day. However, the prime minister has declared the day a public holiday through an executive order.
The holiday will then be followed by the regular weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, 23 and 24 October.
As a result, government employees will get five consecutive days off from 20 to 24 October to observe Durga Puja.
