Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday inaugurated the July Uprising Memorial Museum, established to preserve the memory of those who lost their lives during the July 2024 mass uprising and to present the history of the movement to future generations.
The museum will open to the general public from 6 August.
Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat, Cultural Affairs Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman said the government had introduced a time-based online booking system to ensure orderly entry and a safe visitor experience.
Adult tickets cost Tk50, while tickets for children cost Tk25.
Visitors must reserve an entry slot through the museum’s online booking platform before visiting. If all slots for a particular day are fully booked, applicants will need to choose an available slot on a later date. The museum will allow entry only during the approved time slot.
The authorities have reserved the museum’s opening day exclusively for the families of those who were killed during the July mass uprising.
General visitors will gain entry from 6 August with tickets booked through the online system.
Zahed Ur Rahman said the timed online ticketing system aims to prevent overcrowding and ensure visitors enjoy a safe, orderly and comfortable experience.
