Umme Marufa, a special correspondent at News24, has been appointed on a contractual basis as first secretary (press) at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in India’s Kolkata.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.
According to the notification, Marufa has been appointed for a one-year term, effective from the date of joining.The ministry said her appointment is subject to the condition that she resigns from any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organisation before assuming the post.
