The National University (NU) and IDP Education Bangladesh on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding overseas higher education opportunities for millions of students enrolled at the university’s affiliated colleges across the country.
The agreement was signed at the IDP Bangladesh headquarters in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Monday morning.
NU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Amanullah signed the MoU on behalf of the university, while IDP Education Bangladesh Country Director Razib Mahbubul signed on behalf of the organisation.
Under the agreement, IDP Bangladesh will provide NU students with comprehensive support for admission to renowned universities abroad, including information on study opportunities, scholarship assistance, guidance on university applications, and IELTS preparation and testing services.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof Amanullah said the partnership was a timely initiative to help NU students remain competitive globally and expand their career prospects.
“Our students need greater exposure to international education and employment opportunities. Through this partnership with IDP Education, they will receive proper guidance to pursue higher education abroad,” he said.
Razib Mahbubul, country director of IDP Education Bangladesh, said the organisation has been helping students fulfil their higher education aspirations worldwide for more than 50 years.
“We are delighted to work with the National University and its vast student community. We believe this initiative will open up new horizons for young people aspiring to build international careers,” he said.
Under the MoU, NU and IDP Bangladesh will jointly organise seminars, workshops, education fairs and IELTS awareness sessions to help students develop the skills needed for international higher education and career opportunities.
