Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Saturday that police has formed a special unit to recover looted and illegal weapons.
Those who will provide information in this regard will receive from Tk10,000 to Tk200,000 as prizes, he announced.
The home minister made the announcement while attending a review meeting on the crime situation for the last three months with police high-ups at the Rajarbagh Police auditorium on Saturday morning.
During the meeting, police high-ups presented their activities to control the law and order situation to the home minister while making various demands, including ramping up technological assistance from the government and other necessary requirements to carry out their duties.
Asssuring that the government is considering the demands with priority, the home minister said they will assist police in maintaining law and order situation in every way.
During the meeting, the home minister gave necessary directives to keep the law and order situation normal. Concluding the meeting, Salahuddin told reporters that he has instructed police to gradually improve the law and order situation.
