A preparatory meeting on the upcoming presidential election will be held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today with Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair, said a press release from the Parliament Secretariat.
Earlier, on 6 August, the Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule for the presidential election.
According to the schedule, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is 13 August. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on 16 August, while the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is 4:00pm on 18 August.
Voting in the presidential election will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on 20 August in the Jatiya Sangsad session chamber.
