The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9:00am today.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the Met Office this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
A few places in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may also experience rainfall and thunderstorms, the bulletin said.
The Met Office further predicted moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at places across the country.
Both day and night temperatures may rise slightly nationwide, it added.
The country’s highest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius in Mongla and Ramgati, while today’s lowest temperature was 22 degrees Celsius in Tangail.
In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:47pm today and rise at 5:10am tomorrow.
