Five people, including four of a family, sustained burn injuries reportedly in a gas cylinder explosion at Bandar in Narayanganj on Thursday.
Three of the injured were admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital. Sultana, 35, with 90% burn injuries, Hazrat Ali, 8 with 8% burn, and Meem, 13 with 41% burn are in critical condition
The remaining two victims were admitted to the Burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The incident happened at a house at Chandpur in Madanpur in the morning.
Bandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Golam Muktar Ashraf Uddin said they were primarily suspecting the gas from a cylinder had accumulated in the kitchen and caused an explosion.
